SMP Apps

Changelog

Recent site changes, newest first.

  1. Added CrossCheck, a restricted app for AI-assisted review of SMP drawing packages, and softened dark mode with neutral greys, gentler text contrast, and app cards that stand out more clearly from the page.

  2. Updated the Expenses artwork on its portal card, browser tabs and installed app, with a matching gold card colour.

  3. Updated the UG Calculator artwork on its portal card, browser tab, and installed app.

  4. Added UG Calculator as a protected, installable engineering app with administrator-managed access and shared account preferences.

  5. Code Expert shared results can now display formatted equations and use Ctrl or Command plus the wheel to zoom cited pages.

  6. Added Expenses, a restricted app for photographing receipts and building expense reports, with its own card, icon and installable app.

  7. Project Hub's versioned application files can be reused by the signed-in browser. Session and tool access are checked together, and session activity writes are limited to once per five minutes while expiration, revocation and Microsoft revalidation remain enforced.

  8. Prevented interrupted requests from blocking later portal and connected-app requests during database setup.

  9. Updated the Code Expert, Fieldwork, Project Hub, and RFP Scanner artwork on portal cards, browser tabs, and installed apps.

  10. Blended app icon corners into each card's colors, removed access labels from apps you can open, and widened mobile app cards.

  11. Updated the Code Expert, Fieldwork, Project Hub, and RFP Scanner icons across the portal, browser tabs, and installed web apps, with matching app-card colors.

  12. Kept staff signed in with a 90-day rolling session while Microsoft quietly revalidates access every 12 hours.

  13. Sync job titles and offices from Microsoft at sign-in, lock directory-managed fields, and prefill first-time profile setup.

  14. Fixed the Home button rollout across connected tools, including cached toolkits and headers that load after the page opens.

  15. Replaced the shield beside your name with a Home button that returns to the portal. Your name still opens Preferences.

  16. Expanded avatar choices to 32 colors. Click your avatar to open the color menu; Project Hub uses the same saved color.

  17. Simplified avatar preferences to a compact color picker and one preview matching Project Hub in light and dark themes.

  18. Added avatar color choices with a saved random starting color and a Preferences return button that takes you back to your previous page.

  19. Added Microsoft sign-in for SMP staff and retained email sign-in for approved external users, preserving profiles and tool access while requiring fresh sign-in.

  20. Moved Project Hub, RFP Scanner, and Code Expert to the start of the portal, followed by the remaining apps.

  21. Made each tool install separately with its own name, icon, and launch page, and kept links to other tools outside the installed app window.

  22. Restored Developer Dashboard access through the Portal with its existing office-network and account restrictions.

  23. Smoothed app card outlines with consistent borders and rounded clipping for decorative layers.

  24. Reduced app card dimensions and padding while preserving icon and text sizes.

  25. Removed the decorative arrows from app cards while keeping the entire card clickable.

  26. Made app cards smaller and square, with subtler borders and tighter spacing.

  27. Redesigned the app dashboard with tinted glass cards, larger icons, and arrow controls, with layouts for desktop and mobile and support for dark mode.

  28. Smoothed app opening by loading each tool once, keeping the loading indicator on the portal card, and repairing stale Fieldwork launch caches without removing local project records.

  29. Required users to explain why they need an app before sending an access request, and made that explanation available to Site Admins.

  30. Made portal-launched tools real browser pages so Home Screen installs immediately use each app's correct icon and name.

  31. Made the approved Android adaptive icons public install metadata for RFP Scanner, Code Expert, and Project Hub.

  32. Fixed iPhone and iPad Home Screen installs so RFP Scanner, Code Expert, and Project Hub receive their approved icons and concise names.

  33. Made the dashboard app icons larger and reduced their corner rounding.

  34. Updated the Code Expert, Project Hub, and RFP Scanner dashboard cards with their installed-app icons.

  35. Launched Project Hub through the authenticated app dashboard with protected routing for projects, teams, tasks, and the imported project-history database.

  36. Strengthened passwordless login protections and isolated RFP Scanner role synchronization behind dedicated credentials.

  37. Renamed the Field Review app to Fieldwork and moved it to /app/fieldwork/ while preserving existing access grants and old links.

  38. Prevented a stale Field Review offline shell from replacing the tool with the public Portal page when it is reopened.

  39. Kept Field Review sign-out protection active through local-work warnings, then rechecked open tabs and pending work before device data is removed.

  40. Added Field Review with access disabled by default, fail-closed backend routing, and connected account offboarding.

  41. Kept the already-loaded app running after its card expands, eliminating the second app initialization and visible blink.

  42. Kept the rendered app visible continuously while the expanding card hands off to the final full-page tool.

  43. Ended app-opening transitions with a real page handoff so the portal no longer remains active behind connected tools.

  44. Finished app-opening transitions as full tool pages with aligned layouts, working headers, and correct mobile controls.

  45. Kept the portal visible while an app loads in the background, then revealed the ready app inside the expanding card.

  46. Kept the clicked app card compact while loading, then expanded it only when the connected tool was ready to reveal.

  47. Kept app launch transitions visible until each connected tool reports that its usable interface is ready.

  48. Made user preferences save automatically and added RFP Scanner-style save notifications.

  49. Added universal user preferences for interface size, motion, theme, date and time, and account details.

  50. Added an expanding card transition and loading indicator when opening an app.

  51. Added a portal footer with the last-updated time and public changelog.

  52. Initial public release of SMP Apps.
